Interpreter funding would get slight bump under proposed state budget

Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposed state budget for fiscal year 2015-2016 would add a slight boost to the court interpreter budget, bringing it to $94.5 million. The funding bump comes as a new law in effect this year allows for courts to expand interpreter services.

Medical Certification course available in San Diego in Feb.

The National Center for Interpretation will offer the Foundations of Medical Interpreting this February in San Diego for those interested in taking one of the two national certification exams. Register by January 31 to get a 10% early bird discount for the 40-hour course.
