Region’s Wage Move Not Enough Given Elimination of Pension Benefits
SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 17, 2017) _ Region 2 moved its wage proposal up to provide a 14% increase over 3 years by implementing a salary range for interpreters. That’s 2% more than their last offer, but the Region still refuses to address the loss of pay interpreters across the region have felt due to the elimination of certain pension benefits paid by the employer. This makes the actual wage improvement for the majority of interpreters in the Region significantly lower.

Region 2 Update
Negotiations Resume but Yield Little Progress
SAN FRANCISCO (Feb.14, 2017) _ Your Region 2 negotiating team returned to the bargaining table to continue the fight for pay parity and employee priority, following a six-week hiatus.
The parties remain far apart on our most important issue: wages. The Region’s proposal is still at 12% over three years. The Union’s proposal would provide a 25% pay increase over three years.

Dates for contract talks set for February
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA (Jan. 26, 2017) _ Bargaining dates have been scheduled in Regions 2 and 3 to resume negotiations for a new contract:
- Region 2 dates are February 6, 7 and 15.
- Region 3 dates are February 21 and 27.

The JC is accepting nominations for a contractor to join the LAP Implementation Task Force and a contractor (not Spanish) for the Court Interpreters Advisory Panel. The deadline is Dec 30.
